Garda operation in Mayo town sees seizure of 3D-printed firearm

A 3D printed firearm was seized as part of the Garda operation

As part of ongoing operations targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the area, Gardaí in Co Mayo searched a location in Ballinrobe on 30th September 2026.

A 3D-printed firearm and suspected cannabis and prescription tablets were seized in the operation by the Mayo Drugs Unit, assisted by the Armed Support Unit and the Garda Dog Unit.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The suspected cannabis and prescription medication will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for examination.

The firearm will be subject to further ballistic testing and forensic analysis.
