Volunteer effort sees second phase of Mayo Sensory Park open The second phase of the Ballina Sensory Park is now complete and open to the public.
This project has been worked on by tireless Ballina Community Clean Up Group volunteers and their partner groups since 2021, when the Freeze For February campaign encouraged hundreds of local people to dip in the icy waters at Caltra, to raise funds for this great initiative. Many other fundraising efforts have taken place in the meantime.
Phase One was completed in December and the second phase of this amazing project opened to the public last night.
Ballina Sensory Park is a haven for all but is particularly vital for neurodivergent children in the community. It was designed with inclusivity at its core, and visitors to the park can expect an interactive experience where they can also relax in a serene and beautiful environment.
