A unique event celebrating Disability Pride Month will take place in Ballina next week.
‘Expanding Horizons: Hear, Learn, Empower’ takes place in the Mary Robinson Centre this Thursday, July 25 at 7pm.
This evening promises to be a dynamic and engaging experience, featuring heartfelt conversations with disability advocates Peter Kearns, Rebecca Connor Wood, and Avril Greham. They will be sharing their lived experiences, discussing the real challenges they face, and inspiring change in how society perceives and treats people with disabilities.
Organiser Avril Greham said it is a chance chance to hear directly from those who live with disabilities, learn from their stories, and empower one another to build a more inclusive world.
“Our goal is to foster a deeper understanding and empathy within our community, highlighting the barriers that often go unseen and celebrating the full lives we lead despite them,” she said.
