Unaccompanied learner clocked driving over twice the speed limit
Gardaí on patrol in Ballaghaderreen detected an unaccompanied learner driver driving over twice the speed limit.
The young, unaccompanied learner had no L-plates displayed and was driving 115kp/hr in a 50kp/hr zone.
His vehicle was seized and he was fined €440. Three penalty points were added to his permit.
The car can only be released to a full-licence driver and there is a reclaim fee of €125 to be paid. It is an additional €35 for each day it is unclaimed
