Two arrested as drugs found in Mayo road stop
According to gardaí, the drugs seized have an estimated value of €8000.
Two males have been arrested and detained this weekend after they were caught with suspected cocaine and cannabis in a road traffic stop in Castlebar.
The find was made as the Mayo Roads Policing Unit in conjunction with Mayo South Community Engagement Area continued their Bank Holiday Road Safety campaign, an initiative involving increased patrols, checkpoints and targeted enforcement efforts to ensure the safety of all road users.
According to Gardaí, the drugs seized have an estimated value of €8000 pending analysis, while a quantity of cash was also seized.
Investigations are ongoing.
