Twins return to Mayo for 90th birthday

Twin sisters recently returned home to Belmullet to celebrate their milestone 90th birthday surrounded by their family and friends.

Kathleen Nicoll and her twin sister Mary Kirwan (neé O’Connor), natives of Blacksod, travel regularly to Belmullet to see their loved ones and marked their recent 90th birthday with a celebration consisting of a lovely meal and music in the Broadhaven Bay Hotel in the Erris capital.

The family were joined by local parish priest Fr Sean Noone, who remarkably was also celebrating his 90th birthday on the occasion. He gave a blessing to both ladies, a gesture that meant so much to their family.

Kathleen and Mary now live in Limerick and Waterford respectively and are in great health and mind as they enter their nineties. They enjoy visits to Mayo to see their family and friends in their native place.

Their family have said they are deeply grateful for both ladies who continue to inspire them every day with their love and guidance and it was an honour to celebrate both with deep respect, admiration and gratitude.
