Temperatures in Mayo set to plummet later this week

Temperatures are set to plummet later this week as we near the end of November, with freezing nighttime temperatures.

Most areas will be dry this evening and tonght with occasional showers in the west and temperatures will remain at 1C or above.

Met Éireann aid the highest temperatures in the west will be 2C overnight with patches of mist and fog in places.

Tuesday will be a mostly dry day with some occasional sunny spells.

Met Éireann has said as the week progresses conditions will turn “gradually colder with frost and ice and potentially some wintry precipitation”.

On Wednesday temperatures in many parts of the county, including in Castlebar and Claremorris will fall to -1C, while overnight on Thursday the mercury will drop to as low as -2C.

Conditions will be cold and frosty with icy patches possible in some areas.
