Mayo Mountain Rescue reported an incident on Croagh Patrick last weekend.

In a social post, the mountain rescue team said: "A female walker suffered a fall on the lower cone of Croagh Patrick. Members of her walking group called 999 for assistance, tended to her and helped her walk, with difficulty, as far as the shoulder where they met our stretcher party. We had been called out by AGS at 1.30pm. Following assessment and treatment, we stretchered her off the mountain to the car park in Murrisk.

"Well done to her friends for taking such good care of her. We wish this woman a very speedy recovery. Our team was stood down at 4.30pm."
