'Significant funds in sponsorship' pledged to help Mayo Tidy Towns group

Moloney's SuperValu has pledged 'significant funds in sponsorship' to help the Ballina Tidy Towns group purchase equipment.

A local Ballina business has pledged 'significant funds in sponsorship' to help the Ballina Tidy Towns group purchase equipment.

The group saw thousands of euros of equipment stolen after their stores were raided by thieves earlier this week.

In a statement, Ballina Tidy Towns said they were 'overwhelmed' by messages of help and support and paid tribute to John Moloney of Moloney SuperValu, Bunree Road, Ballina for sponsorship in helping the group get back on their feet.

John's son Bryan Moloney, who is in the process of opening his new store Centra/Maxol on the Sligo Road, has also pledged support.

"We cannot express how grateful we are to the whole Moloney family, John, Edel and Bryan for their generosity and support. Their contribution will significantly help us to move forward and regroup so we can continue our important work keeping our town clean, beautiful and a place to be proud of.

"Ballina should count itself very lucky to have such amazing people supporting our town!"
