 A Mayo GAA club is counting the cost of Storm Eowyn after the roof of its stand collapsed.

The stand of McGovern Park in Newport, home to Burrishoole GAA, saw its roof ripped apart by the force of the winds.

Thousands of Mayo homes remain without power following the impact of the storm. Many others are reporting a loss of mobile phone coverage.

There are reports of fallen trees and blocked roads across the county and region.

An Orange warning remains in place until 5pm today.
