Popular Mayo school to receive new classrooms

Initial project approval has been granted under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme for St Attracta’s NS, Charlestown.

Minister Alan Dillon has welcomed the announcement that initial project approval has been granted under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme for St Attracta’s NS, Charlestown.

Minister Dillon said he received confirmation from the Department of Education that this popular school will receive an additional three Mainstream Classrooms, and three SEN Classes, including reconfiguration works to existing classrooms and ancillary accommodation.

Deputy Dillon said: “This is fantastic news for St Attracta’s National School, Charlestown and their wider community. It will provide much-needed facilities for the current students and students with special educational needs in the area.

"I want to wish principal Brian McDermott, his staff, pupils and the Board of Management the very best with this project in the months ahead.”
