Popular Mayo festival cancelled and will not return

A popular North Mayo festival has been permanently cancelled.
The committee behind the Ballina-based Yeast Meets West festival say that after careful consideration, they have made the difficult decision to bring the festival to a close. As a result, the festival will not take place in 2026 or in the future.
“This decision has not been made lightly. Over the years, Yeast Meets West has grown into a wonderful celebration of craft brewing, local food, music, and community, and we are immensely proud of everything that has been achieved,” said organisers.
The committee thanked all those who contributed to the success of the festival.
“We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has been part of the festival's journey. To our brewers, food producers, musicians, sponsors, volunteers, local businesses, and the thousands of people who attended and supported the event over the years, your commitment and enthusiasm made Yeast Meets West the success that it became.
We are grateful for the friendships formed, the partnerships created, and the lasting memories shared. The support of our community has meant more than words can express.
Thank you for being part of the Yeast Meets West story. It has been a privilege to share this journey with you, and we will always look back on the festival with great pride and appreciation.”
