Planning granted for extension to caravan park facilities in popular Mayo tourist resort

Mayo County Council have granted planning permission for the extension of facilities that allow for the parking of mobile homes in a popular tourism area of the county.
Planning permission has been granted by the local authority to McNicholl Caravans in Achill for the proposed development that is located at Golden Strand, Doogart East on the west Mayo island.
The development will consist of 11 new mobile home parking bays, two electric charging points, a connection to existing public services and associated siteworks.
There is already an existing mobile home park on site.
In making their decision to recommend that planning be granted for the proposed development, the Mayo County Council's planning staff said that the proposed extension of the existing caravan site is considered to be an acceptable development.
They said the development would be in accordance with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.
Mayo County Council granted planning for the proposed development subject to a number of conditions.
