COMMUNITY NOTES: NORTH MAYO - WESTERN PEOPLE (DECEMBER 16 EDITION)
Known far and wide as Mr GAA, Jimmy Foody, Bonniconlon celebrated his 84th birthday in style last week.
Jimmy played his first Junior match in 1957 at the age of 16 years. He was instilled with a love of club and county, cycling on one occasion to Bangor Erris for a North Mayo Board meeting, all 72 miles return journey.
