The Moy Singers thrilled the crowd at their annual Spring Concert.

The Great National Hotel in Ballina was packed to capacity for Saturday’s spell-binding show.

The 45-member four part choral choir were staging their first choir of the year. Alf Potter, who has been the choir's accompanist since 2017, has now taken over the reins as musical director and crafted a remarkable repertoire for the event.

It was a homecoming for the concert’s special guest, Marc Roberts.

The Crossmolina man attracted a loyal local following and brought the house down with his rendition of Mysterious Woman, the song which saw him take second place in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest.

The concert featured a moving tribute to the late Western People photographer and choir member, Henry Wills.

Henry was a huge fan of Simon and Garfunkel, and the Moy Singers dedicated stirring versions of The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy) and Bridge Over Troubled Water to him.

The choir, accompanied by Merlin Cummins on keyboard, and cellist Anna Houston, breezed through their performance.

The evening opened with Alexander’s Ragtime Band, Ascot Gavotte, and Ave Verum.

The male members of the choirs stepped into the limelight with Memories are Made of This and 16 Tons.

While the ladies let rip with the hugely entertaining, It’s Raining Men.

Michael McGowan tickled the audience with his expressive and humorous performance of I am the very model of a Modern Major General.

The evening drew to a close with When I’m 64 and Lullaby of Broadway before an encore drew a deserved standing ovation.
