Motorist caught driving over 160km/h on busy Mayo road

Over the weekend on the busy N5 in Charlestown, Mayo Roads Policing Unit detected a vehicle travelling at 164km/h in a 100km/h zone.
The vehicle overtook a number of vehicles at high speed, and as a result, the driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving.
An Garda Síochána Mayo stated: "Speeding at this level puts everyone on the road at risk. Slow down. Drive safe. Arrive alive."
