EUROSPAR Belmullet proudly hosted an in-store Spinathon last month, raising an outstanding €4,525 in aid of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI). The fundraiser brought together retailers, staff, customers and members of the public for a high-energy day of static cycling, fun and community spirit.
The event, which took place on December 5th, saw enthusiastic participation from people of all ages, with continuous cycling taking place throughout the day as donations were gathered for NBCRI, EUROSPAR’s official charity partner. The lively atmosphere, laughter and encouragement made the Spinathon a memorable occasion for the Belmullet community.
Annette and Aileen Howard, who operate EUROSPAR Belmullet, expressed their gratitude for the remarkable support.
“We were absolutely thrilled with the turnout and generosity shown by everyone. The energy in the store was fantastic from start to finish and it really showcased the remarkable community spirit that exists here in Belmullet.
"We want to give a special thanks to our loyal customers for their incredible generosity along with our brilliant staff, who threw themselves into the event with great enthusiasm.
"We would also like to pay tribute to the members of Cara Iorrais Cancer Support who joined us to help out and raise awareness of the amazing support services they provide locally. Their dedication, along with the support of our customers and community, shows what can be achieved when people come together. It’s wonderful to raise such a terrific amount for a cause that means so much to so many.”
The impressive total raised will directly support NBCRI’s vital research efforts, helping to improve diagnosis, treatment and outcomes for breast cancer patients across Ireland.
