Local Ballyhaunis singer Gerry Carney is planning a trip to Lebanon to sing a song he penned in memory of Private Billy Kedian who was killed in the contested Middle Eastern country in 2000.
The song "Bringing Billy Home" was performed at a recent unveiling of a monument to Private Kedian.
Carney is planning the trip, according to the organiser of the monument unveiling, Gerry O’Boyle, who explained that the singer has had 9,000 views of the song in the week following the unveiling of the monument.
The song is now available on iTunes.
