Mayo road motorist caught speeding at 175km/hr

Over the weekend, Mayo RPU were conducting speeds checks throughout the county.
In a social post, they said: "Disappointingly, we continue to see drivers travelling at high speeds on our roads.
"In this case, a vehicle was detected on the N5, being driven at a speed of 175kph in a 100km zone - with passengers on board.
"The vehicle was detained under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act."
