Mayo road motorist caught driving over 180km/h during rain weather warning

Mayo Roads Policing Unit were carrying out a speed checkpoint yesterday evening on the N5 near Westport when a motorist was detected travelling at a speed of:
181km/h in a 100km/h speed zone.
The car was seized, while the motorist was subsequently arrested and charged with dangerous driving and will now appear before the courts.
