Mayo priest presented with unique honour on 90th birthday
Fr. Tom Harrington recently celebrated his 90th Birthday.
Fr. Tom Harrington celebrated his 90th Birthday on 28th October, 2025, the feast day of Ss. Simon and Jude.
He was born in Carrigaline, Co. Cork, in 1935. He studied for the Priesthood in All Hallows College, Dublin and the Beda College, Rome. He was ordained a Priest for the Westminster Diocese, where he served in several Parishes with Cardinal Basil Hume, whom he holds in the highest regard. 19 years ago, he retired to Knock, where he served in many different ministries at the Shrine and neighbouring Parishes.
At the celebrations for his 90th Birthday, Fr Richard Gibbons, the Parish Priest of Knock, presented him with a unique honour by giving him “The Knock Medallion”.
