Mayo mourns loss of Seamus Marrinan

The late Seamus Marrinan was immensely popular in the county town.

Mayo is mourning the loss of a leading light in GAA circles.

Seamus Marrinan was a dedicated servant to Castlebar Mitchels and a hugely passionate and knowledgeable supporter of Mayo GAA.

A former employee of the Department of Lands, Seamus was a hugely popular figure in the county town. The Turlough Road native was immensely influential in Castlebar Mitchels. A former chair of Mitchels Bord na nOg he helped to shape the club’s successful underage structures.

Seamus was predeceased by his beloved wife Carmel. The loving father and grandfather is deeply regretted by his heartbroken family, Ciara, Brendan, Siobhan, Seamus, Treasa, Cormac and Síle (Kinlan, Dublin), brother Pádraic, sister Máire (Adams, Tullamore, sons-in-law Gavin, James, Tommy and David, daughter-in-law Catriona, adored grandchildren Caoimhe, Eoghan, Seosamh, Shane, Bláithín, Aoife, Erin, Liam, James, Róise, Cathal and Aran, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
