Mayo Mountain Rescue respond to night incident on Croagh Patrick

There was recently a nighttime incident on Croagh Patrick.
The Mayo Mountain Rescue team got a callout at 8.30p.m. to help a couple who became severely fatigued while descending the mountain. The first responders located the couple on the track, about 30 minutes from the Murrisk car park.
Following emergency care and assessment, they stretchered one of the walkers off the mountain, and the other was walked off safely, with assistance, to the car park.
Mayo Mountain Rescue want to thank the passing hiker who called 999 for mountain rescue assistance and gave the couple a torch.
The team was stood down at 10.10 p.m, and the couple were wished a speedy recovery.
