A newly-formed community group, the Kitchen Table Crew, will launch their first fundraising project - a unique charity recipe calendar - at a special event in the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, on Thursday, October 10th.
The evening will be officially opened by Midwest Radio broadcaster Gerry Glennon, with music provided by David Connor. Admission is free, and guests will be treated to a selection of homemade goodies to sample.
The group, consisting of local women who began meeting informally around a kitchen table, say their aim is to make a positive difference in the community through annual projects.
“Like so many, our families and friends have been touched by cancer, and we felt it was time to give something back,” they explained.
The 2026 calendar features a collection of traditional family recipes passed down through generations. All proceeds from sales will go directly to Cancer Care West and the Kilkelly Community Centre, two organisations that play a vital role in providing care and support to people locally.
The Kitchen Table Crew hope the calendar launch will be the first of many community initiatives.
“This is about more than fundraising,” Philomena Noyes, of the group, told the
. “It’s about connection, heritage, and helping others. We want to build on the tradition of giving, one project at a time.”Organisers are encouraging as many people as possible to attend the launch to show their support. The calendar is a unique idea and is not only to benefit great causes but is also beautifully presented, making it an ideal keepsake or gift.
