Mayo and Sligo mourn loss of tremendous community man
The late Joe Walsh was a leading figure in GAA, drama, and community organisations.
Sligo and Mayo are mourning the loss of a man who was at the heart of life in his community.
Joe Walsh, of Cruckawn House, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo and formerly of Cloonaughill, Co. Sligo, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving and devoted family.

“Joe was an ever-present at Phoenix productions and drama festivals in St Brigid's Hall over many years, and will be greatly missed,” stated the Phoenix Players.
“Tubbercurry was made richer by his presence,” said another online tribute to Joe.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Maeve, parents Mike and Sadie and his brothers Seán, Gerard and Colm.
He will be sadly missed and deeply mourned by his family: Dearbhla (Sara & Jack), Alan (Jane, Cillian, Eimear, Aisling, Ruairí & Róisín), Caríosa (John) and Brian (Cathy, Luca, Danny & Sadie), his siblings Frank (Castlebar), Mary (Hinfey, Dunleer), Kieran (Navan) and Peter (Spain), brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, wonderful neighbours and many great friends.
