An Garda Síochána are advising that a flight restriction notice is currently in operation in Co Mayo.
It comes upon a two-day visit of EU Ministers for a series of events in the Ballina and Foxford areas in particular.
UAS (drone) pilots have been advised to check the IAA website (www.iaa.ie) for restrictions on flying drones in UAS Geographical Zones and TRAs immediately before operating a UAS.
An Garda Síochána have said that UAS detection systems will be in place to identify the location of drones that are flying in restricted areas as well as the drone pilot, adding that breaches of TRAs and Geographical Zones are subject to investigation by An Garda Síochána and the IAA.
As part of Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union, a mixture of formal and informal EU Presidency events across both Sunday and Monday are taking place at Foxford Woollen Mills, Mount Falcon Estate and St Mary’s Secondary School in Ballina.
