Marathon charity cycle is a ‘wheel’ success
A group of cyclists recently completed an incredible cross-country cycle to help raise funds for two worthy charities.
Seán Keane and a group of cyclists from the Lisheen Cooneal cycling club from north Mayo cycled from the Phoenix Park in Dublin back home to Crossmolina, a journey totalling around 250km.
They launched a fundraising campaign with all funds going towards Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Ireland and the Patient Comfort Fund in Ballina hospital, two very worthy causes.
They began their journey on Saturday, September 7, setting out from Aras an Uachtarain in the early morning.
The group made it it all the way to Roscommon by the end of day one.
Day Two’s journey took them the rest of the way, with a huge crowd gathered in Crossmolina to greet the group of cyclists home.
The fundraiser raised over €15,500 for the two worthy causes at the time of writing with donations still open.
They can be on the ‘East to West Charity Cycle’ page on gofundme.com.
