Man arrested following seizure of drugs in the West
During the search, quantities of suspected cannabis and cocaine, with an estimated value of €13,000, were seized.
As part of ongoing enquiries into the sale and supply of drugs in the towns of Ballyhaunis, Castlerea and Ballaghadereen, on the 16th January 2026, Gardaí attached to the Mayo/Roscommon/Longford Divisional Drugs Unit, assisted by colleagues based at Ballyhaunis Garda Station, executed a search warrant at a rural property in the area.
During the search, quantities of suspected cannabis and cocaine, with an estimated value of €13,000, were seized. These drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
One male has since been arrested, and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
