Man arrested and charged following seizure of drugs in Mayo

Last Friday, the 16th January 2026, the Mayo Roscommon Longford Drugs unit executed search warrants at two residential properties between Crossmolina and Bangor Erris, Co. Mayo.
They were assisted by colleagues from the Mayo North Community Engagement Area, attached to Belmullet, Bangor Erris and Crossmolina Garda Station.
Twenty six Cannabis plants were seized and the equipment used was subsequently dismantled and rendered inoperable.
One male was arrested at the scene and taken to Belmullet Garda Station, where he was questioned and has since been charged and is due to appear before Court next month.
