Opening date revealed for Ballyhaunis healthcare centre

Final electricity connection works were due take place at the new Ballyhaunis Primary Healthcare Centre last week, a meeting of the Regional Health Forum West and Northwest was told.
Once the building is powered up, the final phase of testing and commissioning will proceed, according to the HSE.
Responding to an update query on the project from Ballyhaunis-based Cllr Alma Gallagher, HSE management said it is anticipated that all construction works will be complete and the building handed over in April 2026. The equipping phase will follow on from the handover and once complete, the building will become operational. This is expected to happen in July.
The long-awaited project has been subject to several delays in recent years.
