Funds 'urgently needed' for new HQ for Castlebar Order of Malta

Deputy Michael Ring raised the matter in the Dáil.

Deputy Michael Ring has raised in the Dáil the urgent need for substantial funding to be approved for a new headquarters for Castlebar Order of Malta.

Deputy Ring has also contacted Minister Heather Humphreys on this matter.

Deputy Ring stated: “Castlebar Order of Malta carry out tremendous work. They provide a marvellous service to the locality. They are an invaluable asset to the county town. They are hardworking volunteers who strive at all times to serve their area. 

“Castlebar Order of Malta carry out a lot of patient transfers to hospitals. They provide a wonderful and reassuring service to people at a very difficult time."

Deputy Ring said the Order of Malta in Castlebar had been seeking funding for a new headquarters for the past number of years. 

"They urgently require a new base. It is imperative that they are supported in their endeavours as they provide a tremendous service and it is important that the organisation is supported.

“I am lobbying the Minister very hard to try and secure funding for a new headquarters for Castlebar Order of Malta and I will continue to do so” concluded Deputy Ring.
