Gardaí make several discoveries after searches of residential premises

As part of an Operation Tombola, Gardaí attached to the Community Policing Unit in Galway Garda Station have seized in excess of €55,000 of tobacco and cigarettes as well as over €50,000 of counterfeit goods in Ballybane, Co. Galway on Thursday 23rd October 2025.

Searches of a residential premises and vehicles in the Ballybane area was carried out by Galway Community Policing Unit. During the course of these searches Gardaí seized in excess of €55,000 worth of tobacco and cigarettes. A large quantity of counterfeit goods were seized which included in excess of €50,000 of counterfeit electronic goods.

A large number of Fireworks and a large quantity of counterfeit designer clothing were also seized.

A man, aged in his 50s, was arrested in connection with this seizure. He has since been released from custody and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
