Fundraiser in Ballina will support four-year-old boy living with rare condition

Twin Trees Hotel & Brusna Falls Leisure in Ballina will host a major community fundraising weekend on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of September in support of Celtic supporting four-year-old Paul Stark, who is living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The event, titled Hustle for That Muscle, is being organised by Thomas Daly and staff from Dublin City Council. More than 70 participants will climb Croagh Patrick as part of the fundraising effort, while six cyclists are undertaking an extraordinary journey from Glasgow to Ballina.
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a progressive condition for which there is currently no cure. Treatment and specialist support can help manage symptoms and complications. Funds raised through the weekend will help Paul and his family access the treatment and support he needs.
A full programme of family entertainment and fundraising activities will take place at Twin Trees Hotel & Brusna Falls Leisure on Saturday.
From 12 noon, visitors can have their photograph taken with the Sam Maguire Cup and UEFA Champions League Cup, with donations welcome.
From 3pm, a penalty shoot-out competition will take place in the hotel garden. Entry costs EUR5 for three shots, and the overall winner will receive a 50-inch Smart TV.
The entertainment will continue from 8pm in Frog's Bar, where folk and traditional group The Rambling String Band will perform live. The fundraising raffle will also be drawn on the night, with Paul selecting the winning tickets himself.
On Sunday, Rangers v Celtic will be shown live in the hotel from 12 noon, giving supporters another opportunity to come together for Paul and contribute to the appeal.
