Four charged following incidents of criminal damage in Mayo

Gardaí are investigating a number of incidents of criminal damage which occurred at domestic residences in Westport and Newport, Co. Mayo on Sunday 4th January 2026.

The damage involved the breaking of windows at these properties.

Gardaí arrested four adult males, two aged in their 20s, two in their late teens, as part of this investigation.

The four men have since been charged.

They are due to appear before Castlebar District Court this morning, Tuesday 6th January 2026 at 10.30am.

Investigations are ongoing.
