Four arrested following incidents of criminal damage in Mayo

Gardaí are investigating a number of incidents of criminal damage which occurred at domestic residences in Westport and Newport, Co. Mayo on Sunday 4th January 2026.

The damage involved the breaking of windows at these properties.

Gardaí have arrested four adult males, two aged in their 20s, two in their late teens, as part of this investigation.

All four are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Garda Stations in Co. Mayo.

Investigations are ongoing.
