The purpose of these was to investigate, prosecute and to eradicate the illegal provision of unlicensed services to the public by unlicensed drivers and vehicles.
It also concentrated on the licensed operators, ensuring that they are compliant with the regulations.
The provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013/2016 were enforced and resulted in the issuing of Fixed Payment Notices to operators who have been found to be in breach of the regulations.
Fines totalling almost €2,000 were issued to operators found in breach of the regulations.
Court Prosecution files will also be prepared, and it is envisaged that prosecutions will ensue.
This operation is one of many ongoing investigations targeting illegal operators nationally.
