A leading Mayo solicitors’ practice has announced a further expansion of its partnership, reflecting continued growth and demand for its legal services across the West of Ireland and beyond.
J.V. Geary Solicitors LLP, based on Linenhall Street in Castlebar, has confirmed that Patricia Lally has been appointed as Partner in the firm, joining Managing Partner John Geary and fellow Partner Ita Feeney.
Patricia joined J.V. Geary Solicitors in 2014, having previously worked in solicitors’ practices in Cork and Galway, where she gained extensive experience across all aspects of litigation. Since joining the Castlebar firm, she has developed a broad and highly respected legal practice and is regarded as both a skilled litigator and an effective negotiator.
Speaking this week, Managing Partner John Geary said he was delighted to welcome Patricia into the partnership.
“Patricia has been a central part of this firm for over a decade and her appointment as Partner is a recognition of both her outstanding professional ability and her enormous contribution to the growth of the practice,” Mr Geary said. “She is an exceptionally strong advocate for her clients, with a practical, strategic approach to resolving disputes, and she embodies the values we place at the heart of our firm, professionalism, integrity and client service.”
In addition to her extensive litigation practice, Ms Lally advises a wide range of business and corporate clients on commercial and regulatory matters, including commercial leasing, commercial lending, contractual arrangements and dispute resolution. She is highly regarded for her strong commercial judgment and pragmatic approach to legal risk, and is regularly instructed by companies, property owners and business operators seeking strategic legal advice.
Ms Lally also has extensive experience in family law, particularly in advising clients through separation and divorce proceedings. She is known for combining strong advocacy with a sensitive and measured approach, helping clients navigate difficult situations while protecting their financial and long-term interests. Colleagues and clients alike note her focus on achieving practical and workable solutions, while robustly protecting her clients’ legal rights.
A native of Tourmakeady, Patricia attended Coláiste Muire locally and studied law at NUI Galway, laying the foundations for her legal career.
Commenting on her appointment, Patricia Lally said she was proud to join the firm’s partnership and looked forward to continuing to serve clients across the region.
“J.V. Geary Solicitors LLP is a progressive and client-focused practice with a strong reputation for high-quality legal services,” Ms Lally said. “I am very grateful for the trust placed in me and I look forward to working with John and Ita in partnership as the firm continues to grow and develop.”
Founded by John Geary in 2010 following his return to his native Mayo after practising in Dublin, J.V. Geary Solicitors LLP has grown steadily and now operates as a multi-partner practice providing legal services across a wide range of practice areas, including personal injury, property and conveyancing, litigation, employment law, family law, probate and commercial matters.
The firm’s recent partnership appointments reflect increasing demand for legal services in the region and its ongoing commitment to building a strong, experienced legal team capable of serving clients locally and nationally. J.V. Geary Solicitors LLP is a seven-solicitor practice with support staff.
