"Delicious" guest of honour confirmed for special Ballina event

Let There Be Light Christmas Festival Ballina is delighted to announce that local man and social media sensation Garron Noone will be switching on the lights with Santa Claus in Ballina on Sunday week, November 23.

The switching on of the lights at the Market Square with Mr Delicious himself will be preceded by a fantastic day's entertainment in the middle of town with music starting from 2pm. Local singers and musicians will be performing festive favourites to generate a buzz and create a Christmas atmosphere.

The day will begin with a Sensory Hour at the Jackie Clarke Collection, organised in conjunction with Let There Be Light, a local group of volunteers who came together to reimagine Christmas lighting in Ballina.

Santa Claus will be there to tell stories and meet the children until around 4.30pm when the big man will take a tour of the town accompanied in convoy with a light show from tractors, fire engines, motorbikes and more.

Three lucky local schoolkids will accompany Santa in his sleigh up town to the Market Square and will help him turn on the Christmas lights.

The committee have thanked local people for backing their efforts to date, including a significant attendance at the Halloween Pumpkin Patch event, and have asked they turn out in good numbers for Sunday week's events.
