New solicitor is welcomed at Ballina Court

Solicitor Justin Kelly was formally welcomed to Ballina District Court.

One of Mayo’s newest solicitors was given a warm welcome to Ballina District Court last Tuesday.

Justin Kelly, who is a native of Kilkelly, was formally introduced to the court by solicitor Denis Molloy.

Mr Molloy said Mr Kelly has began practicing with Callan Tansey Solicitors in Ballina having completed his traineeship with Sherwin O’Riordan Solicitors, a well-renowned Dublin-based firm.

He said Mr Kelly is hoping to specialise in medical negligence and personal injury law, adding that he will be a welcome addition to the legal profession in Mayo.

Court Presenter Gda Sgt Conor McShane welcomed Mr Kelly to Ballina on behalf of An Garda Síochána and said he was looking forward to working with him.

Ballina District Court Officer Manager Ailish McGuinness wished Mr Kelly a warm welcome back to Mayo on behalf of the local Court Services.

Judge Sandra Murphy said it was a great pleasure to welcome Mr Kelly to the court.

“We’re extremely proud of you for qualifying as a solicitor. It is great to see young practitioners taking up roles as solicitors now,” she said.

“I think you will find that everyone in Mayo works well together and everyone pulls in the same direction.”

Mr Kelly thanked everyone for their kind words of welcome and said he is looking forward to working with them in the local courts.
