The defendant pleaded guilty at Castlebar District Court.
A Garda prosecuted his namesake at Castlebar District Court.
Gda Padraig Walsh took the case against Padraig Walsh, aged 68, Creevagh, The Neale, Ballinrobe, who pleaded guilty to driving without insurance.
Gda Walsh told the court that he stopped a Ford Mondeo at The Neale South, Ballinrobe at 3.32pm on May 19, 2023. He spoke to the driver, Padraig Walsh, who did not produce a certificate of insurance.
Walsh has 14 previous convictions, including two for driving without insurance.
Solicitor Cathy McDarby said her client is "very disorganised" and this led to him not being insured. She said he no longer has access to the vehicle in question.
Judge Fiona Lydon imposed a community service order and adjourned finalising the matter until April 3.
