Call for no posters in Mayo during Presidential election campaign

A Castlebar councillor has urged candidates to dispense with posters.
A Castlebar councillor has implored Presidential candidates to dispense with election posters.
Cllr Ger Deere, who is also member of the Castlebar Tidy Towns Committee, told a meeting of Castlebar Municipal District that posters should not be erected in towns and villages in the county.
"In light of the Presidential election, I would ask anyone connected with any of the political parties who are running that there should be no posters," said Cllr Deere.
A lot of Tidy Towns organisatons around the county have come together and asked for no posters, he added.
