Best of luck: Mayo native among entrants for Sligo Rose 2026

The Sligo Rose Centre have announced the entrants for the 2026 Sligo Rose Selection.

Among the entrants is Jessica Casey, who hails from Charlestown.

The Sligo Rose Facebook page said Jessica has a "strong grá for the Irish language and is currently studying BA(Hons) in Business and Irish at ATU Sligo. 

"She has a strong sporting background, having played with Sligo Rovers in the Women’s National League, an experience that greatly shaped her discipline and love for teamwork. Alongside soccer, she has a lifelong passion for Gaelic football, representing Mayo at underage level and proudly winning an All-Ireland title with her school. 

"Away from sport, Jess has a deep love for music and enjoys playing for her family and friends. Proud of her roots and community, she is delighted to take part in this year’s Sligo Rose selection night."
