Kelly Hearing Specialists are recognised as leaders in their field, having been crowned Independent Audiologists Of The Year by the All-Ireland Business Foundation for the past two years.
The business is headquartered in Ballaghaderreen with clinics set up from Donegal down to Tipperary, taking in Connacht and reaching as far as Monaghan. They are making a difference to people’s lives with their work, allowing their clientele to hear things clearly and, as a result, have a much better lifestyle.

They set up in July 2023 and have grown to operate 36 clinics in local pharmacies, opticians and GP practices. They have become known for their exceptional customer service and personal touch with each client mixed with their expertise, knowledge and skill in this field.
Offering free hearing tests, free hearing consultations, free PRSI hearing aids, the latest hearing aid technology, professional ear wax removal, custom-made ear protection and custom-made hearing aids, Kelly Hearing Specialists have your ears covered for all occasions.
Hearing can be quite a sensitive topic. Often people will have an issue with their hearing but will find it hard to bring themselves to address it.
“Denial is one of the processes every single person goes through when it comes to hearing,” Vicky told the Western People.
“Studies show that it takes eight years from someone noticing hearing loss to getting hearing aids. We start with a hearing test, and I always tell people, you can’t fail it. Just come in so you can be informed and let us tell you where your hearing is at and understand exactly what is going on.”
The team will go through your medical history, check your ear health and conduct a full hearing test. They will go through the audiogram with each individual so they can understand what exactly is happening. This will help to pinpoint the difficulties and why they are occurring.
Kelly Hearing Specialists are then able to make recommendations based on how your hearing is. Often times, hearing aids are needed to address the situation. It is a big step for people, and Kelly Hearing Specialist offer continuous support throughout, offering a free aftercare service for life.
They will have follow-up appointments at different intervals but if you are having an issue, you can call in, and the team will help you with it.
Vicky said she finds this to be a rewarding line of work, and it means a lot to be able to make a real, tangible difference to people’s lives.
“It is very rewarding when people tell you they can hear their grandchildren properly for the first time or when they say they can hear the birds singing every morning again,” she said.
“We received a lot of recognition for the work we’re doing by being nominated for and winning these awards, and it is amazing to get that recognition as a small family business.”
Moreover, it is incredibly rewarding for Vicky to be able to work alongside her mother every day.
“We have a great working relationship and a great relationship overall. We each know how the other works; I know how dedicated she is to patients, and she knows how dedicated I am to patients. We both know we’re giving a personal touch to the business. It’s lovely to work together.”
