ALERT: Water outage reported in Ballina areas this morning

Drop of water falling from faucet. Water supply cuts due to drought. Severe restrictions measures for water saving. Increase in prices and taxes on the water bill.

Uisce Éireann crews are responding to reports of a water outage in Ballina this morning.

The outage has been caused by a burst main and is impacting customers in Rathroeen, the Killala Road, Culleens, Breffni, Faranoo and surrounding areas of Ballina Town.

Crews have been mobilised to site and are currently working to isolate the burst and begin repairs. To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs and the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place and will be clearly signposted.

Uisce Éireann is conscious that this section of water main has burst multiple times in recent weeks and acknowledges the frustration of customers who have been affected by these repeated water outages.

Colette Schaill of Uisce Éireann assured affected customers that crews will work as quickly as possible to repair the burst and restore supply.

“We understand the inconvenience and frustration caused by repeated unplanned outages, and we wish to thank impacted customers for their patience as we work to restore supply,” said Colette.
