A review of Mayo’s 2024 inter-county senior football season remains ongoing,
.The process, which is involving team management, the players and executive officers of the county board, got underway earlier this month and follows a campaign that saw Mayo fail to reach the All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals for only the second time in 14 seasons.
The
understands that all members of the Mayo senior football panel had until last Sunday to return two separate questionnaire-style documents, with their responses aimed at assisting the review process.Mayo manager Kevin McStay met with Mayo GAA officials in MacHale Park last Tuesday.
It’s believed that the senior team review will not be completed until next week at the earliest.
Speculation of potential changes to the senior management set-up has derived no response from Mayo GAA, with officials remaining tight-lipped on the matter.
Speaking at the last monthly meeting, county board secretary Ronan Kirrane told club delegates that they had a “huge part to play” in the review while vice chairman Con Moynihan said the role of officers was to “ask hard questions” and that a review would be pointless without asking them.
