Republic of Ireland Under-21s Head Coach Jim Crawford has today named his squad for the upcoming UEFA U-21 European Championship qualifiers against England and Andorra.
The squad features a return for Manchester United’s Jack Moorhouse, who has received international clearance. The midfielder, who has been impressing on loan at Leyton Orient this season, is now set for his first competitive involvement in an Ireland U21s squad.
Ireland face a huge test first up, travelling to Birmingham to take on an England side managed by former Republic of Ireland international Lee Carsley on Friday, November 14. They will then head to Andorra for the second fixture of the window on Tuesday, November 18.
The squad also highlights the strength of the League of Ireland pathway, with four players included: Tommy Lonergan (Waterford), Jad Hakiki (Sligo Rovers), Westport's Conor Walsh (Sligo Rovers), and Mason Melia of St. Patrick’s Athletic, who is set to join Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur shortly.
