Mayo FC launch new club crest

Mayo FC Crest
In another historic step for Mayo FC, the club have announced the official launch of the brand-new club crest.
Weaving together iconic symbols that resonate with the hearts and souls of the people of Mayo, the design draws on the history, culture and influences that have shaped the county and its people, while also reflecting the challenge that lies ahead and the ambition and commitment of those involved with the football club.
Embracing the traditional red and green, the crest offers a fresh and dynamic look that boldly asserts our commitment to excellence on and off the field - its sleek design reflecting the professionalism, commitment and ambitious spirit that embodies Mayo FC as they look forward to their inaugural season in the National League.
At the bottom of the crest, the boat's bow symbolises the prowess of Gráinne Mhaol (Grace O'Malley), one of the most iconic and powerful women to come from Mayo, as a symbol of Mayo FC's dedication to the development of ladies football and equal opportunity for all. The nine lines across the bow represent the nine baronies across Mayo - Erris, Burrishoole, Carra, Costello, Clanmorris, Gallen, Kilmaine, Murrisk and Tirawley.
At the top right, the cross is for Croagh Patrick, which holds a special place in the hearts of Mayo while the path to the left of the crest symbolises the path up Croagh Patrick and the difficult but hugely inspiring journey Mayo FC is starting on.
Mayo FC chairman, Seamus Hughes, expressed his enthusiasm for the new crest. "The launch of our new club crest marks a significant milestone in the history of Mayo FC. This crest is a visual representation of our collective identity and a testament to the passion and dedication that fuel this project. We believe it will resonate with the Mayo football public and inspire pride in every member of the Mayo FC family."
