Man (20s) in hospital after firearm discharged in Galway

A man in his 20s has been injured in a shooting in Co Galway.

The incident occurred at a residence at Dunlo, Ballinasloe on Monday at around 3:15am.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the man was taken to University Hospital Galway to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who was in the Cúlán Eiscir Riada area on Monday morning between 2.30am and 4am and who may have camera footage is asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
