Major career moment for Sligo native Johnny Kenny

Sligo native Johnny Kenny has received his first senior international call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad.
The 22-year-old Celtic striker comes into Heimir Hallgrímsson's squad, replacing the injured Troy Parrott.

The Riverstown man, who recently signed a contract extension at Parkhead, has scored one goal in two Scottish Premier League appearances so far this season. Kenny was not in Brendan Rodgers' squad for Celtic's clash against Rangers yesterday.
Ireland begin their World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign this weekend when they host Hungary, before the Boys in Green travel to Armenia.
