Thousands participated in 5km walks across 197 locations in Ireland and abroad, raising funds for Pieta, the suicide and self-harm prevention charity.

There is widespread grief in West Mayo following the tragic death of a woman who lost her life in a drowning accident on Sunday. The woman has been named locally as Cathy Hughes.

A woman has been jailed after she was caught driving without insurance for a sixth time.  Lorraine McKenna, aged 42, of Ocean Wave, Salthill, Co Galway pleaded guilty at Castlebar District Court to driving without insurance at Knock on April 25, 2021.
